So last month, my boss invited me to join him for lunch with one of our clients. When I arrived at the restaurant only then I realised that it’s an “atas” Japanese lunch.
Righttt, but it’s mainly raw premium fishes. As people know me, I do NOT take raw sushi. Lol. I’m lucky to have a really understanding boss so that’s why he has got them to flame it all for mine but anyway he insisted I should try.
He got me a Mino Set. It comes with the dishes below:
Refreshing appetizerChef’s Specialty Sushi
People shall judge me because I flamed them all up. Well, it’s still raw at the bottom! Anyway I braved myself to try the first piece and then I slowly chewed piece by piece. It was an indescribable feeling. Once I put that piece of sushi in my mouth, the next second that slice of fish was gone! Yes as if it melted. Wow! Definitely a must try! – I speak as a non-raw sushi eater/consumer 🙂
My Mino set – RM198++
It is a must try at least once in your lifetime. Well, at least that happened to me 🙂

Last month when I was in Penang for the weekend, I was searching for a cafe where I can complete some of my assignments while having my brunch. I prefer somewhere condusive enough for me to do my work rather than a high traffic crowd. And I found this spacious cafe called the Macallum Connoisseurs Coffee Company in Georgetown. The exterior looked like a giant grey warehouse in the middle of the town. And I was amazed by the liveliness of the cafe. We ordered a Hot Latte and a Iced Green Tea Frappe<3Connoisseurs Crossaint – Scrambled Eggs & Shiitake. RM15
“It’s A Green Day Breakfast” – Vegetarian Platter with Avocado, Baked Beans, Scrambled Eggs, Portobello, Tomato and Salad. RM20
Love the ambience!

On Thursday noon, decided to shift back to my usual healthy eating routine and I had a sudden thought of this place. A friend of mine posted on her WeChat Moments introducing this restaurant which recently just had its official opening ceremony.
Since it was near to the airport and I had a flight to catch, why not?
The interior of the restaurant. Very “green” indeed 🙂
Let’s see the menu. They do not have extensive variety of choices but I still had a hard time ordering. I would loved to try them all! Later on, I found out from a friend that they only serve natural ingredients *extra point* 🙂
Majority of the dishes are to be served with rice. And yeah we ordered brown rice for sure.
Stir Fried Four Vegetables with Cordyceps RM18.90
Fragrant Golden Melon Soup (it was a little salty to taste but still had the rich pumpkin texture) RM14.90 – For one portion but it was enough to share among 3 of us.
Recommended!! Crispy Eggplant Hong Kong Style RM15.90 – I couldn’t even believe myself that I was having eggplant.
Deep Fried Pleurotus Eryngii with Soy Sauce RM18.90 – It was kinda over priced for 6 little pieces of these mushroom but we liked it pretty well.
Overall, the food presentation and taste were good. Definitely will come back to try out the rest of the menus.

So, it was my dad’s birthday that I decided to treat him to The Ship at Batu Ferringhi since we were at Penang. Reason being this place brings back my childhood memories when I was little. It was a usual Wednesday evening so there wasn’t any crowd at the restaurant.

Comments: Quite disappointed with the food portion and quality, the staffs were rather young or new, and the manager was basically lecturing his staffs behind us since we were sitting quite near to the cashier.
We still had to enjoy the night though 🙂
My so-called Fresh Mango Juice.
Seafood Platter RM44.90. Judge yourself 😶 PS: Do NOT order this or you shall regret 🙂
Black Pepper Chicken Chop RM27.90
The signature dish Escargots RM20.90 for 1/2 Dozen
Seafood Gratin RM33.90
Mixed Salad RM13.90. Well, we needed some greens to balance up the meal 🙂
Price: $$$ (for the food quality and quantity)

Just touched down in Penang for my dad’s birthday and decided to stop by at this restaurant for lunch.
I’ve ordered CLAM PAN MEE. Yesss clammmssss 🙂 I’m a seafood lover. The broth has a light gingery taste that goes well with the clams. I had my noodles “pinched”. The noodles were smooth and thin. My dad had the scallion Pan Mee and it tasted just as good. Deep Fried Enoki shall not be missed!
Without forgetting their hot spring egg!
