Vege Delight, Arena Curve Penang

On Thursday noon, decided to shift back to my usual healthy eating routine and I had a sudden thought of this place. A friend of mine posted on her WeChat Moments introducing this restaurant which recently just had its official opening ceremony.

Since it was near to the airport and I had a flight to catch, why not?

The interior of the restaurant. Very “green” indeed 🙂

Let’s see the menu. They do not have extensive variety of choices but I still had a hard time ordering. I would loved to try them all! Later on, I found out from a friend that they only serve natural ingredients *extra point* 🙂

Majority of the dishes are to be served with rice. And yeah we ordered brown rice for sure.

Stir Fried Four Vegetables with Cordyceps RM18.90

Fragrant Golden Melon Soup (it was a little salty to taste but still had the rich pumpkin texture) RM14.90 – For one portion but it was enough to share among 3 of us.

Recommended!! Crispy Eggplant Hong Kong Style RM15.90 – I couldn’t even believe myself that I was having eggplant.

Deep Fried Pleurotus Eryngii with Soy Sauce RM18.90 – It was kinda over priced for 6 little pieces of these mushroom but we liked it pretty well.

Overall, the food presentation and taste were good. Definitely will come back to try out the rest of the menus.

The Ship, Batu Ferringhi

So, it was my dad’s birthday that I decided to treat him to The Ship at Batu Ferringhi since we were at Penang. Reason being this place brings back my childhood memories when I was little. It was a usual Wednesday evening so there wasn’t any crowd at the restaurant.

*Photo credits to a source from Google 🙂

Comments: Quite disappointed with the food portion and quality, the staffs were rather young or new, and the manager was basically lecturing his staffs behind us since we were sitting quite near to the cashier.

We still had to enjoy the night though 🙂

My so-called Fresh Mango Juice.

Seafood Platter RM44.90. Judge yourself 😶 PS: Do NOT order this or you shall regret 🙂

Black Pepper Chicken Chop RM27.90

The signature dish Escargots RM20.90 for 1/2 Dozen

Seafood Gratin RM33.90

Mixed Salad RM13.90. Well, we needed some greens to balance up the meal 🙂

Ah Gu Pan Mee, Georgetown

Just touched down in Penang for my dad’s birthday and decided to stop by at this restaurant for lunch.

I’ve ordered CLAM PAN MEE. Yesss clammmssss 🙂 I’m a seafood lover. The broth has a light gingery taste that goes well with the clams. I had my noodles “pinched”. The noodles were smooth and thin. My dad had the scallion Pan Mee and it tasted just as good. Deep Fried Enoki shall not be missed!

Without forgetting their hot spring egg!

Oasia Hotel Novena, Singapore

It was my second stay at this hotel. The first was during my birthday last year. Great hospitality, great team, great location 🙂

Last year, they left a little cupcake and a birthday card in my room *surprised* *grateful*

Talking about why I chose here, it’s directly connected to Novena MRT, which made it so easy for me to travel to from Changi Airport. Even if I’m rushing, grabbing a cab from the airport to Oasia Hotel is just around 30 minutes or less.

Check in was so quick. This time the FO only took 5 minutes or less of my time before I could proceed to my room.

4stars Hotel, 5stars service! Well, at least for me 🙂

They have a well equipped gym, enough for my usage too.

This time, I booked the Superior room and was given room 1702. A corner room with an L-shaped window overlooking the towers of Novena Square if I’m not mistaken. And I loved this room for sure.

Comfortable bed to relax on. Overlooking the office tower behind.

Alter Ego, Esplanade Mall, Singapore

After spotted some tempting photos from Instagram, here we are to get some taste of them on a Sunday afternoon.

It was easy to find, and a great location for an afternoon/evening stroll along the Singapore River.

So tempting aren’t they?

The Beverages we ordered:
Southern Sunrise (front)-White Hibiscus, Lemongrass, Grapefruit *my pick
Pumping Pomegranate (middle)-Apple, Rosehip, Pomegranate Petals
Blue Mountain (back,left)-Vanilla Black Tea, Blue Cornflowers, Floral Overtones

Blue Mountain was their recommendation but I prefer my refreshing Southern Sunrise 🙂

Buffalo Wings – Brined wings, twice-baked, in spicy & tangy buffalo sauce.

The Poke Bowl – Umami Omega – Spicy Garlic Sesame Salmon on sushi rice, served with lime avocado, kale chips, pickled seasonal veggies and ikura.

Usually I don’t take raw salmon but this really goes well with the rest of the ingredients.

Loaded Taters – Crisp hash brown in spicy jalapeño cheese sauce, maple-glazed bacon & sour cream 👍🏻

Shortrib Grilled Cheese (Sandwich) – A blend of gruyere and taleggio cheese sandwiched between artisanal white loaves 👍🏻  The shredded beef is so tender!

Not forgetting their amazingly friendly and helpful staffs! It was a friend’s birthday so I actually brought a cake in and they were so prompt in helping us to serve the surprise cake after we had our meal 🙏🏻

After the meal, of course we couldn’t miss out taking a good shot at the Jubilee Bridge just a walk away from Alter Ego!
